Smart Spending

October 22, 2025 This year during Amazon Prime Days (Oct. 8 & 9), we focused on being intentional with our spending—buying what we actually needed, not just what caught our eye. It’s so easy to get swept up in the excitement of deals and flash sales, but we made our plan ahead of time and stuck to it. Instead of impulse buying a new wardrobe, seasonal house décor or fun jewelry, we zeroed in on essentials we’d be purchasing anyway, like dog food or laundry detergent.Normally, one bag costs around $90, but during the sale, we were able to grab two bags for just $100. That’s nearly a 45% savings and means we’re stocked up through the end of 2025. It felt good to take advantage of the discounts without overspending or making purchases we knew would come with buyer’s remorse and the overwhelming feeling of guilt.Moments like this remind us that smart shopping isn’t about chasing every deal, it’s about timing our purchases for when the savings make sense. By focusing on NEEDS over wants, we walked away from Prime Days knowing we got real value, not just the thrill of hitting “Add to Cart.” I am not sure we would have made such strategic moves without the help of Project Money!
